    I've been calling this forever. 550 - 600 is the price point for these specs, not just a manifestation of greed on the part of Asus. MSI got a lot of good buzz for keeping theirs below 500, but it wasn't realistic.

    "running out of STUCK," oops.

    I wonder if Asus knew about this. the $100 price cut puts these two neck at neck. Everything would be the same except:
    Wifi-N
    Multi-Touch trackpad

    Although most reviewers put the Wind ahead of the 1000H before, I wonder what they'll say now that the price plane is level. I think MSI made a smart move by this, because all of the reviews are already out, and everyone picked the Wind when there was a $150 price difference. No one's going to re-review their decision now.

    You forgot one of the most important benefits of the 1000H over the WIND - accessibility! 2 screws and you're deep inside the EEE - everything is right there under the bottom access panel - memory and HD can be swapped in minutes - and that's important to hobbiests like myself - the WIND just fails in that respect.

    HELP!!!! Need opinion, now I'm torn between the MSI Wind with the 6 cell battery or the Asus 1000H. Any suggestions? Is the Asus a better idea due to the fact it's easier to upgrade? Thanks for any help anyone can give me

    Since they're both the same price now, and the EEE has at least 3 more features than the WIND....and the fact you can get an EEE now...the choice is easy!

    Well, not exactly easy.

    A) Newegg is the only retailer I've seen selling the Eee PC 1000H for $550
    and Newegg is out of stock.
    B) According to Laptop Magazine, the MSI Wind gets about 30-40 minutes more
    battery life out of a 6 cell battery than the Eee PC 1000H

    So it all depends on which features matter the most... and how soon you want
    to buy.

    Thanks much for the info and suggestions. Could not find the ASUS 1000 to order. Went with the MSI. Q2 Designs actually have the 6 cell 2 GB in stock. $599.00 little pricey but tired of waiting. I have a feeling that's the way MSI planned it though. Build us all up about the MSI and then the frustration over all the delays - we'll agree to anything. Should receive it in a day or two. Will give you an update. Thanks again!

    Hey, you should look at the bright side - MSI Wind (3cell) is $800 here in the Czech Republic, so stop whining ;-)
